Guys & Gals,
The intense interest and concern and energy expended on the "all original" and "all matching" questions and related values tends to overlook a fundamental point. The number or original, i.e., WWI and WWII era (arbitrary definition) Lugers is finite. Matched or not, they're all lovely little beasts and when the supply dries up, as it will, prices of all will soar. Those of you with Civil War pieces I'm sure are well aware of this. Even the mis-matched pitoleums are reaching astronomical prices. -- way beyond our imagination ten years ago. The same thing will happen to the Lugers, the primo 20th Century military pistol. And it will happen within the next ten years. When that happens will we be afraid to shoot them for fear of devaluing them. Look at this site ten years from now. Jim |
