Hi Ed,
Lugers, unlike Colt 1911A1ΓΆ??s were not made with fully interchangeable parts - there was a lot of hand fitting done during final assembly. When a part was replaced due to breakage that new part was numbered to the pistol for a very good reason - it might not work in any other Luger. Replacement parts were not numbered until they were used, and when used were numbered to the pistol. Best regards, Kyrie |
