Please help identify this firearm. It belonged to a friend who just passed away and her sister is now the owner. I have done some research but the first thing is I believe it is re-blued which then devalues it down to "shooter". The proof markings barely show the eagle which must have worn off but the blue is still there?? Some blueing is shiny and smooth and some is dull like parkerized and scuff marks are evident such as from crocus cloth. The grips sound like plastic. Also the "1916" on the chamber, the first "1" is worn also. The photo with the proof marks is the most accurate as far as color. It looks like an eagle proof on the left side forward of the toggle. The serial number is 9XXX.
It has two clips, one is silver with wood and the other is black with nylon neither has a number. Caliber 9mm. It has a holster with only one illegible circular marking inside the flap that may say "1916" in the circle. No tool in the pouch. I would like my friend to know the value and perhaps some firearm history |
