Default Lower grip strap marking help

Our byf 41 has the following marking on the lower front grip strap. Below is a photo of the marking along with a photo of the proof marks. Any help in identifying is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Charlie

Charlie, I have one of these markings listed and illustrated in HWIS in Chapter 20 under the subheading "Leftovers." I have not been able to identify it. Some have suggested that ZW is the abbreviation for Zwickau but this is not like the police markings from that city that I have identified. For my database, could you give me the full serial number from the front of the frame?

Also, does it have a sear safety?

There is strong evidence presented in the following thread that ZW is a post-WWII marking of the Austrian customs service (Zollwache). This mark is found on a variety of weapons, including U.S. .30 M1 carbines.
