Default 1941 Holster ID question

I made a trade for an S&W over the weekend. The seller had his price a tad too high IMO but he also had a Luger holster displayed (no price). After haggling, he decided to throw in the holster for his pistol price. Its a nice holster but the maker's mark is marred. Its a ?C(G)X dated 1941. The waffenampt eagle is okay but the code is obscured. It ends in 0.

Its not the greatest holster but I liked it. Hope its not a repro. Can anybody put a value on it? Better yet, can you tell me who made it?

Okay, heres another question perhaps better reserved for another topic.

Assuming that the holster in question isn't rare (like mine) would you even bother buying a holster with partially obscured markings? I would rather have perfect markings myself but this one was almost free.

Thank you!

Charlie
