Opinion on Artillery Value please

Update: I decided that the gun was just too damn good looking to give up. I worked it out with the gentleman and decided to keep the gun for around $1500. Thanks for everyone's input and help.

I love Lugers and though their beauty is often in the eyes of the beholder, you gotta be careful out there. I'm going to keep reading print, the web, and this board, and probably bug you guys from time to time.
