S&W 22 Target Masterpiece circa 1946-47, Ivory grips:

S&W 38 Target Masterpiece, circa 1955-56, Ivory grips:

Well it's about dang time you got a SAA Bar-B-Q gun. I thought you were going to fool around with those other "wannabes" and skip the hogleg. Glad you got one, and the other two ain't all that bad, 'specially the double-deuce. Good going pardner!

I think it's a rule you have to use silver bullets in these.

Ron,
The 22 is the only one that is signed, it was engraved by Frank Hendricks of San Antonio. He did a lot of guns for Texas Rangers.

Wow, unusual to see three such nice pieces at one time. Did all three come out of a single collection?

Hey Hugh, the obvious solution to your problem is ... Box those babies and ship them to me!!! You know, out of sight, out of mind!!!

alanint,
The two S&W's I bought from the same man, the Colt was from someone else.

The Colt was a fair price, but I "stole" the two Smiths.

And, yes, I plan to shoot them! It's a lot more fun to shoot pretty guns than ugly ones!

Hey HUGH!

You are supposed to post your photos HERE, not on Photobucket! I can't see them!

Another wave of BBQ? Shooting them is too luxury. I saw an engraved COLT in a local store, the seller did not even allow me to swing out the wheel.

I recently posted pictures of a S&W 22 Targetmaster engraved by Frank Hendricks of San Antonio, who died in 2003. In doing research on Frank, I ran across this bit of info:
"Frank E. Hendricks has been one of the worlds top ten gun engravers for more than 50 years. Back in the 1970's Frank engraved several belt buckle designs based on Fredrick Remington, Charles Russell and his own designs. The buckles are negative engraved into bronze dies and are created by the lost wax method in three metals, bronze, sterling silver & gold. Each buckle is part of a limited series, the quantities vary from 200 to 400 pieces and are signed and numbered by Frank with, "Made Especially For 'your name" on the back.
These buckles have been sold out for years, coveted by collectors, and very seldom seen for sale."

I was extremely fortunate to find one; Charles Russells "The Buffalo Hunt" in bronze, #51 of 200. It will make a nice companion to the 22 Target Master.

"Charles Russell's oil painting, "The Buffalo Hunt" is recreated here in bronze sculpture as a 3 1/4" wide X 2 7/8" high buckle and is another fine detailed piece that commands high collectors prices. The limited edition of 200 bronze and 50 silver have been sold out for many years."

Hugh, try the upload link at the top of the page instead of perhaps a link you had bookmarked... I think the URL has changed when John D. did the upgrade.

please try again.
