Default Mag~ Worth Repairing?

I was given this magazine. The follower is stuck, and the tube seems to be bowed outward a bit, as it will fit neither my DWM or Waffenfabrik Bern.
Oh! sages of the forum, is it worth having it repaired, or shall I just resign it to the junk drawer?

Compared with Swiss magazine

I am sure there are guys who could repair it, but its a goner as far as I am concerned.

GT on the forum could straighten it out and get it working, but either he'd be doing it for really cheap, or you'd be into it, far past its worth....

It looks like it's got years of gunk/hardened grease in it. Since it's not functional anyway, I would try a good WD-40 or other lubricating agent/solvent to see if that gets things going.

If that doesn't help, try to dismantle it (carefully). It looks like a 1930s Mauser commercial magazine (if it isn't an old reblue) to me, which is correct for 1930s commercial Mauser contract guns like the Dutch Navy luger. So I wouldn't chuck it into the parts drawer that quickly.

The mag in your photo appears to be one of the Finnish made post war extruded mags with crude wood bottom, that Sarco and IO were advertising a couple of years ago for around $35 each. Since you can currently purchase a new MecGar for that or less, I wouldn't spend much time or money repairing this one. TH

At the very least, soak it in pentrating oil for a couple of weeks (without the mag bottom, then clean it up and reassemble it.

You can post it in the for sale forum with the information that it needs repair... there are those who do have the tools to salvage this mag, and maybe you could trade it as partial payment for a good one.

Tom,

You're probably right. I overlooked the lack of a crimp on this one.
