Default History Channel acount of Luger

It seems that Luger's biggest contribution to history is

legitimation of automatic (semiauto) pistol in military

application, according to History Channel.

by being first automatic pistol to be adopted by a

major military power of the world.

Do you subscribe to that theory?

btw, it seems the most often seen character on History

Channel is Adolf Hitler. who's middle name is

unknown to me. Yet I have never seen him carrying

a Luger.

I think that he carried one in WW-1 as

"Corporal Adolf Schickelgruber"

Viggo:

True but, the Luger is not very good against mustard gas, and that's what Adolph came in contact with. Tis a shame to think if there had been just a wee more mustard gas, it might very well have "done him in" We would have still had the "Luger" but not HIM!

Or if the British machinegunners shot straight, and got him with his two comrades who were both killed. Instead, Adolf made it through, and got the Iron Cross first class for it!
