Sounds like something our Leatherman Jerry Burney might be able to help out with... if an original is not available, he might know where a repro might be hiding... Good Luck Murray and hope your new year is a great one.

Thanks guys,

No, Ed, I did not receive a reply as we know it Captain, but, I have been in the USA since I talked to you last and as Jan, the Lady Luger to whom I am married and puts up with gun oil on the pillow and other places did not mention it or I happened to see it on the four computers we own, then I would venture to suggest we did not, but I hope it was of some use for you next book.
I was honoured to meet and discuss "Luger" things with Jerry at the SAR show at Phoenix in December early. What an amazing person.
I will contact Jerry as I have some other favours to ask of him seeing that he "stole" the mag pouch that I had seen not ten table away from where I saw him at the show.
All joking aside, it was really great to meet up again with some of my American Friends.

Kindest wishes
Murray.

Murray, Sorry I have no source for such rare parts! I did enjoy meeting you at the show but stole the mag pouch? That is really too much! For three days I begged, pleaded and threw money at the old fart who had it to pry it out of his fingers! I was really worried he wouldn't break it out of the 6000 dollar Artillery rig he had! Or that someone would buy it all and take the pouch too...
Anyway, if there is any favor you need from me let me know!
I will help if I can, Jerry Burney

Many thanks Jerry,
It was great finally getting to meet you at the SAR show. I am pleased that you got that pouch. It was nice. I was also interested but I had recently found one at a gun show in Christchurch New Zealand which had two nice original magazines and cost me NZ$400 (US$300) and of course I had spent most of my money by then on the carbine.
It is a nice gun, I have not got it yet as we are waiting on the BATF export licence to be able to ship it. The stock was not original and the front swivel assembly was missing but the price was right, so I do hope that you might be able to help me with a swivel.
Regards
Murray

Thank you all very much for your help and suggestions.

I think the best thing for me to do is wait until I have the Carbine actually in my grubby gun oil smeared hands so I can determine exactly what I need.
I will then post some photos to give a clearer idea to all those much more knowledgeable than me.

Once again,
Thank you all kindly.

Hi Guys,
Well, today my 1902 Carbine turned up and I sold the wife to pay for it.
I am sorry the photo is strange but my camera is playing up a bit

You will note that the forestock swivel assembly is missing.
Below is the internal components for the fore stock and you will see that all that is missing is the swivel and it's threaded shaft.
The plunger block and threaded retaining bush (nut) are there.

Jerry, this is very similar to the photo you posted but I don't need the plunger block and retaining nut, only the swivel and shaft. The stock is a repo stock and it is also missing the swivel assembly but I have no idea what it looks like other than in photos in books.

Can anyone help please.

The gun is great and the service I received, especially from LeRoys Big Valley gun works with the BATF and export was very good indeed.

I think it is clear what I now need so I suugest you forward my details on.
i will pay you for what ever it costs.
I have another project for you which I will e-mail you about.
Kind wishes

Murray, OK...Like a bloodhound I am on the scent! I will know shortly if a sling swivel alone can be procured.
I will Email you shortly about the other Carbine Case project.
