need some advice
I am shopping for a g date and need some advice on what to trade off. One g date has has about 90% blue and poor strawing, but has a matching mag. The other is about 95% blue, better grips, 70% straw, but a non matching grip. Which would be the better collectors piece?
How important is a matching clip vs a better finish on the Luger? |

boy, that is a personal choice. If I could get an original matching mag and the gun was 10-15% less condition, I would do it. However, condition is always worth more in the long run....
I haven't seen them, but I am going to see 2 G dates this friday for sale... Ed

Just my opinion, but go for the best *original* finish and all matching numbers on the gun. Grips, magazines and firing pins were high attrition items and I personally do not discount very much if they do not match and I don't pay a hefty premium if they do. It is the gun that counts. Once again let me say...that is just my opinion.
