Default how to value

a friend of mine has a 1939 42/s luger with all matching s/n's including both mags and leather holster..condition is very good to excellent with 90- 95 % + blue...he has the capture papers with this as it belong to an uncle of his.. can we find a place to get a true apprasial of this gun?..he tried a few web site's that fed him alot of crap..including comments .."like just send me the gun and i will tell ya what it's worth".. ..please note this is not a sales pitch..we are looking for someone in the southern michigan / northern ohio area that will put an honest value to the piece...thanks for any help..orphanreb

Clear pictures of the gun and holster will greatly aid us in determining a fair market value.

Kris, sometimes they are kidding on the forums, sometimes they are serious. It is impossible to appraise completly accurately without seeing clear pictures and knowing if it is all original (not reblued or nickled) and if all the small parts match (the last 2 of the serial number should match).

Kris,

I edited your post to make the photo show. To do this, change the "url" tags to "img". The rest of the syntax was correct.

The gun appears to be in very fine shape, but closeups of both sides, top, and the front of the frame in sharp focus will be necessary for a close appraisal of value.

Also photograph the bottom of both magazines, and the front and back and inside of the holster. You are looking at more than $2000 and up as a value for the entire rig, depending on what the rest of the photos show.
