Default American Eagle Luger

I'm not that familiar with lugers, I saw an American Eagle luger in a small gun shop today, there was only one SN# on this pistol, under the barrel on the front of the frame, the eagle was on top of the chamber, and it was a 9mm. I always thought there would be more than one SN# and these models were only 30 cal.

Thanks Mark

Depends on what year of "American Eagle"

They have made newer ones, they were lower serial numbers and 9mm.

Knowing what was on the toggle, what the serial number or close range of SN would help a lot....

For the old ones, they'd have a DWM on the toggle...

Mark,
Did it have a grip safety? Are the toggles cut at an angle or straight? Was it blued or chrome? How much are they asking for it?

I'm not sure if there was a DWM on toggle, the toggle was straight, no grip safety, pistol was blue. The dealer was asking about 3K, he also had a chrome model he told me that was 1 of 400 made. These 2 pistol were priced between $2500 and $3500, out of my range.

Mark,
I am not sure what he is referring to about 400 chrome Lugers; possibly more recent Lugers. There was never an original chrome Luger. I think the forum would be interested in knowing more about the Eagle if possilbe, especially since you said it had no proof marks. Try to get the serial if you can.
