Pete, Yes..It has bee dyed. You can tell because the thread on the tool pouch is blackned. This was undoubtably done by a subsequent owner. Not by the Germans. Unfortunate but the excellent condition of the rest of it ....It does not become a deal killer for me.
By the way I am not selling this holster...It came to my attention and I thought it was worth looking at. Jerry Burney
