Chances are pretty good that the original stock iron was discarded in the insanity that preceded BATF deciding that carbines were exempt, and it was subsequently replaced with an artillery iron. As Dwight has pointed out, you have again shown us a rare Luger example. Your family did very well in their collecting efforts.
