Ern,

You can wait until my book is published or send me the marking and I will translate it.

Post your unit marking on this Forum and someone will probably be able to identify it.
If your marking is Imperial Era look in the book "Imperial Lugers" page 195-197.

Question 1935 G date navy

I have a 1935 G date that matches including the mags sn 4769d .The unit marking is O.1685 I understand that is Ostsee but is there a possability that anyone would know what unit? This was given to me by my wifes grandfather (an army major ) he was incharge of a hospital in I think Italy. It seems a nurse came running to the major saying the german officer has a pistol under his pillow and will not surrender it to anyone unless they are of equal or higher rank. He gave it on to me about 1 yr before he passed away . Any info would be greatly appreacated .

Jasper,

The tracibility of KM property marked Lugers is virtually non-existant. Beyond the major unit (Oor N) it is simply not possible, courtesey of "Bomber" Harris and Chuck LeMay, to go further. The records were incenerated in late '44 and '45.
