Default Odd eBay Listing

I am the first to admit I'm not too sharp on these things. This holster is currently on eBay as "German Pre WWI 1908 Commercial", but to me it looks like the magazine pouch construction is WWII era. For a buy now price of $850, I am wondering if the description justifies such a figure?

Ron,
A big 10-4 on that. It doesn't have a separate hinge piece
on the flap either.

In my opinion, a German pre-WWI 1908 Commercial holster would have a strap and half-moon buckle (which is covered in leather). None of the early German dealer catalogs show this type of holster, and this holster is very suspicious.

I think the seller simply has mixed up his WW's. Looks like a nice holster.

My commercial holsters have provisions for cleaning rod, punch and TD tool. Im not sure what to call holsters with this configuration. Post WWI Police? Maybe a commercial varaition? There was a nice one that sold on ebay a little while ago that was pigskin. What ever it is its a nice holster.

Hi gentlemen,
* 1st Variation Police Holster starting in the Weimar period I was once told. Pear shaped closure strap is the 1st clue.
* Jan Still, Weimar Luger, Pg. 174 has a picture. Also see Pg. 159.
* ....nice example of a seldom seen holster variation; but, $850 ?? Guess I'll have to go trade in the car.
Regards,
Bob

Bob is right on the money IMO. Has to have been made after 1922 or so because of it's construction as Ron has pointed out to start this. I don't think Scott would go so far as to identify a holster WW1 - 1908. He knows his holsters. Probably a typo as George points out. Nice holster and they have been rising in price, no doubt about that.
