Default Navy Rod...

Looks like repro zig-zag cleaning rods are getting very good. Not sure if I could spot this as such at a gun show :

Are all the rods, cabine, naval etc made with a brass rod? reguardless of model. Eric

Your question is pretty complex and there is not just a simple "yes/no" answer.

A KEY thing to look for on rods is the taper of the handle (Barrel). For some reason, the boosters simply have not been able to get that part right.

Here is one Shattuck and Etowski are selling for $ 300 on their Phoenix Investment Arms web site. "Original" does not appear in the sales ad, but it is called a "Type II" :
