Default Value of 1937 Luger

I recently came to own a 1937 Luger given to me by my father-in-law. it is in excellent condition with all matching s/n's. Using the Luger Identification form from this website i have come up with the folloiwng:

Toggle incription - S/42
Chamber incription - 1937
Toggle knob - squared & knurled
Grip safety - not present
Stock lug - present
Grip - walnut, checkered w/o border
Thumb safety - Rear "safe" gesichert
Markings - #52 rt side barrel, #45 on rt receiver
Barrel - 4"
Rear fixed sights, front dovetail
Magazine plug - Al w/ matching s/n and #52 proof mark
Bore & grips are excellent condition

Bluing is original and is 99% seeing is believing
i may have incorrectly identified proof marks, but can provide photos if that helps.

All info will be appreciated

Joe, welcome to the forum. I will move this after a while, into the new collector area.

A S/42 means it was made by Mauser, it was a code used by that company.

Year made, was 1937.

Do you know if it is all matching (you'd have to take it apart).

I am presently on a job, just north of Philly for the next couple of months.

Pictures are always welcome.

You can add one photo at a time using the ADD REPLY function, and many at a time using the upper right corner, upload photos function, see this thread; http://forum.lugerforum.com/forumdis...s=&forumid=133

I am just NE, in Bensalem, 5 miles from the border of NJ, and only miles outside of the border of Philly.

The following are photos of the Luger in question. all parts have the same S/N, i.e. the last two digits anyway.

IMHO, in the photos it looks buffed and blued. Try different lighting for your pics. Outdoor lighting works well.
