My 1911 DWM Luger was brought to Flor¸, Norway by an SOE agent some time during WW2. It seems that the Brits used whatever guns at hand to equip the armed forces. This one was probably picked up as war booty and taken back to the UK during or after WW1. Its unit marking B.8.R.5.13. - (Bayerisches 8 Infanterie-Regiment, Kompagnie 5, Waffe Nr.13) indicates that it saw service in a regiment that participated in the battle of Verdun in 1916. Corporal Adolf Hitler served with the same unit in said battle, so in my mind there is no doubt that this was his personal Luger ;D
