Default Pieced together shooter

This is my mismatched shooter. I bought it years ago with bad breech block, a broken extractor, and cracked grips. It had the 6 inch barrel when I bought it. I installed a Sarco new breech block and a used extractor. Also new springs and firing pin retainer. Then I had it blued. I would appreciate anything you can tell me about it. Thanks Chris

Its a very nice looking piece, it make for an attractive shooter. One thing worth mentioning may be the unit marks on the handle. I am not very good at them, I am still learning. I am sure someone here can help me out, but I'll take a stab at it. I don't know what the A stands for, perhaps where the group was out of like Augsburg. I believe the JR indicates an Infantry Company, 18th Rgt. Anyway, thats the best I can do, I still need to do more reading on the subject. I like unit marks, they tend to personalize a weapon.

You are correct. It's a Weimar unit mark. I found that in the unit marking section. I thought I would show the whole gun. Chris

Chris,

That's a really handsome pistol you have there. The extractor color is a nice touch and the proportions of your Luger are great!

I'll bet you get a lot of compliments when you take it to the range.

Dave in TN.

PS: The unit markings are "icing on the cake."

That is a nice looking pistol, Chris! I'm tempted to put together a receiver and 6" barrel to slide on my shooter, too!

Nice looking shooter you have there. The only thing I can add is have you ever tried one of the reproduction navy rear sights? For my tired old eyes it is much easer to see.
