Interesting photo

Hello all,
I have just received this interesting picture that shows some WWII German soldiers firing with a P08 in a non standard configuration. As you can see the barrel is longer than normal.
Any idea?

Really odd appears to be a 10" barrel.

Could it be a .22 cal conversion barrel?

or something made out of a Schmeisser barrel?

I think George has it with the .22 conversion. The photograph is clear enough to note the absence of conventional toggle grips, and possibly the presence of the funny little toggle "tabs" of the .22 conversion toggle.

Also, although subject blur makes identification a bit more speculative, there is a larger blur part halfway down the barrel which could be accounted for by the presence of the standard front sight.

I wonder fi this wasn;t soe sort of "shooting club" that you attend for funb and/or rubbing elbows with higher ups?

Could be anything, although they had 22 caliber conversion kits for the same reason we (US Army) have/had 22's, to encourage and get troops used to shooting. Looks like a saturday morning shooting match to me

Might also the close distance that everyone is at around the shooter also indicate that he's discharging .22 rather than 9mm ammunition?
