Default So off topic -- New Jersey

Looks like I'll be heading to a new job in New Jersey next month. I'll be working from my home (office in Boston). The territory will be NJ, SE NY and Long Island.

Having reviewed the NJ gun laws, it appears living within NJ is not an option. Does anyone have advice or opinion as to areas I might consider within easy driving distance?

Hard to say Glen, as New Jersey is a larger state in some ways, smaller in others. I live in Bensalem, PA, and the border to NJ is about 5 miles away to NJ...

Depending on what kind of weapons you have, PA is probably the best answer. NY is a bit better than NJ, but they still have their AWB as well, and the whole pre-ban thing. Also, it looks like it might be getting worse as well. When you do make it up here, there are a good bunch of guys in NY & NJ who get together for shoots and stuff. Send me an e-mail and Ill give you the details. Good luck.

I like my ugly black rifles and high cap pistols and am waiting on my Stg44 paperwork to clear...

PA is your only other option.

Default PA is best

PA is your best state there, I understand that they have a preemptive law (over municipalities and counties), and a shall-issue CCW law.

NY is not nearly so good as PA: but probably still way better than NJ: at least, outside of NYC.
