Ok what does this really fit??

Hi Johnny,

As a collector of Mauser rifles, and a retired manufacturer of custom rifles based on Mauser actions, I have seen a large number of Mauser rifles and sights and can say from experience the rear sight pictured appears to be from a Kar98k rifle. The Kar98k rear sight you describe is a late war sight, the sight pictured looks to be from a mid to late 1930Ã¢??s production rifle. And the sight dimensions will indeed fit a Kar98K barrel.
