Who can refresh proof marks on my ERFURT, it will be best to have the work done in Europe (EU).
The stamps is not so clear any longer after somebody (fool) has renovate the gun in the past, I can still see what the stamps originally was. (eagle and crown/letter) Reg. Sej-gun. |

I doubt you will find any one with the orginal stamps, but an engraver could deepen them, but unless you plan to have your gun refinished, that area would loose its blue. TH

Hi Lugerdoc
Thanks for the answer! I suppose that somebody; Gunsmith, maybe has a copy of the original stamps for refreshing the stamps. I will now contact a engraver. Reg. Sej-gun ![]() |

You can check this site. This is just page one of four pages...
http://www.gunsworld.com/p08/p08_proof_us.html If you have the money, you can invest in the book "World of Lugers Proof Marks" by Sam Costanzo. Not cheap and hard to find (sometimes) but worth the investment from what I hear.

Contact "Thor" (Ted Green) I remember seeing that he can restore proofs on his website.
If you type "luger proof restore" in google the first link will be for Teds strawing service. The link starts with " Ted's Luger Strawing Service, Proof marks can be restored if in areas of pitting ..." For some reason Ted's site would not come up when I clicked it. Chris

Don't think Ted is doing international jobs. I contacted him some years ago about fixing up a Luger, and he has probably not changes his policy. (It's not so strange with today's restricted laws)
I have a Erfurt toggle with good markings for a trade Sej-gun, but you are probably thinking of fixing up a matching Luger?

If you send your gun to Thor, it is going to be a long time coming back based on his having health issues. Bill Adair, who is a trained engraver. does a great job of re-cutting proofmarks.
