I'm fortunate that I do own two very nice matching 95-97% Lugers. I'm beginning to see price increases in RC's and mis-matched shooters in 60% and less condition. I can't afford the correct, highly collectable guns anymore but I still enjoy looking at them. I sometimes wonder if these premium collectable Lugers are now priced beyond the reach of most buyers causing these values to stabilize? The Reno Gun Show is the only show I go to now (getting as old as dirt now and finding it harder to get around) and make it a point to say hello to some of you on this forum.

John, when you say "RC"s, do you find the RC marked Erfurts to be less colelctable than an unmarked RC?

I don't know Ed. I admit to lack of knowledge on RC's and particular models. My question was more general in nature. As I read the posts on this forum there seems to be more activity in affordable Lugers and their price increase.

I'm not sure about stabilizing. Prices for even the most modest matching gun have escalated so far out of my reach I'm considering trading my extremely modest collection and turning to an area of collecting where I can afford to buy a gun every now and then.
Supply and demand rules, and demand still seems to be outstrippng supply ! |
