Default NAPCA (Chattanooga)

Had a great time at the NAPCA show. Got to see lots of outstanding Lugers and acessories. Even got to fondle the 1910 Erfurt that was there. Jan Still gave a great talk on the Axis Pistols and some of the history associated with Unit marked Lugers. A great bunch of guys and lots of corporate knowledge that was freely shared. Also not a bunch of guys that turn up their noses at what people collect as there was a wide variation of different pistols.Lots of discussion on fakes that are showing up and how good they are. Saw one of the guys unlaod a beautiful early Radom for $200 after a whole bunch of guys looked at it and finally determined that it had been redone. He said he would not try to unload it as original and was getting out of the collecting field. He basically had a fire sale at his table got rid of almost everything.

Any how one noticible thing about 90% of the guys were up there in years and if the prices continue to go up there are not enough up and coming collectors to buy the items that everyone is looking to get there money out of. We are really pricing youngsters out of the market at least in the Luger and P 38 areas.
