Do you have the last two digit of the serial number on the connecting pin between rear link and receiver of your Erfurt or is it unnumbered? Thanks, Tom |

Hi,
Yes, thanks. Because mine (Erfurt 1913) has no number on this pin and I was a bit curious if it has been replaced. My other german lugers all have numbered pins. Tom |

Bob,
A brief Divisional History. Originally part of the 32nd Infantry div. 16th Army Corps. 1914~ Meuse Argonne 1915~ Argonne- Suffered heavy losses 56 Officers 2,723 men. 1916~ Argonne- Suffered very heavy losses at Chiaumont Transferred to 223rd Infantry Div. 1916~ Sopro-Grancourt -Suffered heavy losses 1917~ Champagne-Heavy Losses Galicia(Eastern Front)- Took part in Austro-German counter attack. 1918~ Transferred to 115th Infantry Div. Western front Meuse-Argonne Took part in the back and forth capture and recapture of Gesnes against American Forces until strength exhausted. An interesting history.. Ron

Thanks, you're right. I just dug out my early Lugers and the pins are all unnumbered. Perhaps I had the WW II Lugers in my hands to often *g*... And one of my 1940's has a misnumbered pin... Tom |
