When I began my search for a Luger, I put a post in the forum noting that I was having trouble deciding which pistol to purchase. Tacfoley gave me some great advice which also included the following quote:

"Both my Lugers were seen and bought in less than ten minutes, including all the paperwork in UK. I never regretted either for a single second, and I'm glad that the very last thing I did with both of them before they were handed over to the de-ac man was to shoot them until they squeaked and the barrels were too hot to touch."

I am not by any means a "gun nut," but handing over a personal possession to a "de-ac man" really bothered me. It's not like having your dog neutered..... it's like having puppy killed and stuffed so you can enjoy seeing what a good looking dog he used to be.

I later did some research into the British pistol laws and was startled to see how restrictive ANY TYPE OF GUN OWNERSHIP is in England.

I'm joining the NRA tomorrow.....
