Default Re: SS Officer Nickle Plated Luger

Gentlemen (and Ladies!),

There are, to the best of my knowledge, no factory original nickel or chrome plated Lugers. There are certainly no German military nickel or chrome plated Lugers, as such pieces would never have passed the inspection and acceptance process.

While there do exist a few presentation Lugers, engraved to some degree and sometimes plated, the plating is material is precious metal (gold and/or platinum are customary). The Soviet Russians chromed or nickeled some of their presentation TT-33â??s, but the Germans did not use these materials.

Chrome or nickel plating of war trophies was quite a fad in the 1950â??s and 1960â??s, and thatâ??s when the majority of chrome and nickel plated Lugers were plated.

I understand this will be bad news for some and Iâ??m truly sorry.

Best regards,

Kyrie
