Came across this unusual Luger, and thought it might be fun, to see what some of you think it is...

Hi,

If I remember correctly, this gun has been discussed before. I believe it is an early post war military police or guard pistol issued to local German security troops. I think we're talking 1945 - 1948 here.

The GMSG is most probably an English abbreviation, rather than a German one. 'German Military Security Guard' or something like it?

See discussion at http://luger.gunboards.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5560

It once had a sear safety so would have been police at some point from 1933 on.
