DWM was the original manufacturer of the luger, the date of 1915 is when it was made. A small case g would mean it was 83,040 luger made in 1915. The finish is probably nickle and was done by many GI's in the 1950's or even earlier, but was not original and the collector value would be minimal. The pearl grips would also not be original to the gun.
