Default First P08 !!

Hello Gentlemen, I am proud to say that I am the new buyer of a byf 41 black widow. Thanks to one of your very kind forum members. The pistol is all matching with correct grips and mag. Original finish @90+%. Non import or RC. I cannot figure out how to resize the pics I have or I would post them. Not very PC literate. I think the P08 has now put a halt to my P.38 collecting and caused me to move in their direction. Thank you gentlemen for this forum as I have learned quit a bit from reading the posts. There seems to be a lot to learn in the way of the luger vs the P.38. I hope you guys will accept me as a new and excited member of your forum. My Best, Bruce Wilder

Yo Bruce,

Welcome to the Dark side>>>

E-mail me the photos. I'll try to shrink them for you.

Bruce, welcome to the Luger Forum. So you've been bitten by the Luger Bug. In a short period of time you will develop a severe case of "Lugeritis". While it isn't deadly, it can be a serious illness!!

Welcome Bruce!
And congrats with your first Luger!
..it's much like drugs, the first Luger is often cheap.. then the price goes up when you get deeper into the state of "Lugeritis". Since you started out with such a nice one ..God knows where you go from here! I don't have much to say about it.. it's a beautiful Luger with some valuble grips!
Perhaps the next thing would be a matching tool (e/655 ?) and holster?

Hi Morgan, Thanks for the kind words. Yes, I am hooked for certain now. I am now looking for a holster and tool. But my funds may limit my purchase for awhile. Maybe this ole KY boy will have to live on bologna for a time. But well worth it in my opinion. Thanks again. My Best, Bruce

Bruce;

Welcome to the forum, but take warning, this bug can eat a big hole in your budget. I never have any money, but I seem to find a way to keep buying Lugers (maybe there's a connection there). I just keep telling my wife I am spending her into the poor house, she keeps telling me to make an updated list of values so she will be abel to sell them when I am gone. I hope she doesn't get to be in too much of a hurry for that. Oh well, one of the hazards of the hobby.

Have you found number 2 yet?

Hi Bob, Thanks for the welcome. It will probably be a year before number 2 comes around. But if I watch my spending it may not take that long. I was really blessed in being able to get this byf 41. One man made it possible or I would still be dreaming. The wife says "widow" may be the correct word for her. I`m kinda affraid to eat diiner tonite. But she seems content as long as there are fresh batteries in her remote control and a cocktail in the other hand. Now to find a cool P08 patch to put on baseball cap or a Luger club to join. Any ideas? My Best, Bruce

Sorry I wasn't around when you signed in... let me add my welcome to the Lugerforum and congrats on a fine P.08

I have a soft spot in my heart for the byf series... they are the finest that Mauser ever produced in my opinion...

Thank you Sir, As you can probably tell I`m pretty excited about it. I did not know that there was so much to learn about the P08. I hope the guys can overlook my enthusiasm (did I spell that correctly). But I imagine at one time they all had the same feeling that I do. My Best, Bruce

Hi Bruce... Nice '41... The guys here are amazing and the most cordial of any forum I visit + very knowledgable. I guess you're gonna leave a few P.38s for me and the OH posse then?

For sure Ed.......Thanks Bob.........Yeah, seems like some really nice fellows here. You know Bob I might just have to sell a few. These P08s have nice price tags on them. But I do believe they are well worth it. Have a great up coming weekend guys. Thanks to all for the warm welcome. My Best, Bruce..........I gotta get a Luger tattoo!
