Default Value P08-S/42-1938

Hello,

Can anyone give me an estimate of the value of this Luger?

It is a 08-S/42-1938. Its numbers match and has has 95% of the orgininal finish.

Alexander, can you give us more pictures and more information?

Full serial number to include the suffix on the front of the frame, that makes a huge differance sometimes in value. There were over 113,000 S/42's made in 1938

WELCOME to the forum, I have moved this to the New Collectors area. Any story of how you aquired it, or just bought it?

When you say "Its numbers match" does that include the magazine, the grips and the firing pin?

For anyone who posts a photo of the left side of a luger I suggest you put the safety on. This lets the viewer see two fairly important areas that are hidden if the safety is off. The condition of the white paint on the gisechert and the numbering or lack of on the safety bar.
Aaron is quite correct, these things make an enormous difference in an estimate.
You might also check to see if the toggle pin is matching. Jerry Burney
