Yes, you have drive out the two pins. The first couple of times I changed the springs, I found this difficult to do. But as I went along it became easier. I think I flattened the point of nail to use as a punch and placed the mag on a piece of wood that had some depressions or hollow areas. I didn't break any of the plastic bottom pieces, although one had previously snapped on its own.
