Default Interesting Colt Conversion...

As a few of you know, I work "part time" at a fairly large retail store in Kittery. As fewer of you know (Hi Ed..!) - I'm also into 1911 .22 conversions.. Anyway - today was my "day off" - so I figured I go take a look as a "customer" to find a 1911 platform for my Advantage Arms Target .22 conversion... Well - I did find a suitable platform for that (a Kimber Heritage) - but, at the same time - I was called over to the trade counter to confirm another traders price on the deal he was doing.. While on the high side - I had to leave the store with this conversion as well....(..Honestly, Jen - it just followed me home???..")"...

And yes - I believe I know what Master Engraver's work this is - it's early 50's vintage and is well known in Colt collector circles...

Anyway - one of my new "conversions" as it sits in the presentation box (the felt is going quickly - it's that old)....

Top of the .22 slide (yes - it's a Colt)

The 1911 is on my 'drool list', since I have a limited permit-space...
I do get to handle our shooting club's stainless 1911 though, that helps

John,

Glad you're going to replace the felt anyway as I just drooled all over it!
Beautiful 1911!

The "fairly large retail store" wouldn't happen to be the Kittery Trading Post, would it? Awesome used gun department. No need to respond here, but send me a PM and I'll drop in next time I am in Maine.
