Interesting Colt Conversion...
As a few of you know, I work "part time" at a fairly large retail store in Kittery. As fewer of you know (Hi Ed..!) - I'm also into 1911 .22 conversions.. Anyway - today was my "day off" - so I figured I go take a look as a "customer" to find a 1911 platform for my Advantage Arms Target .22 conversion... Well - I did find a suitable platform for that (a Kimber Heritage) - but, at the same time - I was called over to the trade counter to confirm another traders price on the deal he was doing.. While on the high side - I had to leave the store with this conversion as well....(..Honestly, Jen - it just followed me home???..")"... ;)
And yes - I believe I know what Master Engraver's work this is - it's early 50's vintage and is well known in Colt collector circles... Anyway - one of my new "conversions" as it sits in the presentation box (the felt is going quickly - it's that old).... http://gallery.rennlist.com/cayennea.../aaa.sized.jpg Top of the .22 slide (yes - it's a Colt) http://gallery.rennlist.com/cayennea.../aac.sized.jpg .22 Slide underside: http://gallery.rennlist.com/cayennea.../aad.sized.jpg Top of the 1911 .45 slide: http://gallery.rennlist.com/cayennea.../aae.sized.jpg Backstrap: http://gallery.rennlist.com/cayennea.../aaf.sized.jpg Left side with the .45 top: http://gallery.rennlist.com/cayennea.../aab.sized.jpg John |

To keep it on topic: Here's the German counterpart :) http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/erma_big.jpg |
That's a terrific Pic!!!! THANKS!!!
:) John |
The 1911 is on my 'drool list', since I have a limited permit-space...
I do get to handle our shooting club's stainless 1911 though, that helps :) |
John, wow! I like it very much :)

John,
Glad you're going to replace the felt anyway as I just drooled all over it! Beautiful 1911! |
I am green with envy. Congratulations John, wish it was mine but very happy for you. Lawrence

John,
I really like your Colt set! Congratulations, Mauro |
The "fairly large retail store" wouldn't happen to be the Kittery Trading Post, would it? Awesome used gun department. No need to respond here, but send me a PM and I'll drop in next time I am in Maine.
