Re: scabbards. Boarding cutlasses were frequently stored in individual racks, both aboard smaller vessels and ashore, without the scabbard being present. This was likewise common in the USN and is a plausible explanation as to why as hard as it is to find a boarding cutless, it is even harder to find one with a scabbard. Tom "toes" A |
