From a manufacturing aspect, I would speculate that Wolff produces springs in the most economical manner that it can that will produce a functioning part... nothing more and nothing less... probably producing the spring EXACTLY as Mauser produced them would require a "tooling" change from what they can already do...
A couple of years of managing a manufacturing engineering department taught me that...
