Steve -
The follower is particularly difficult to remove without damaging some of the parts. The pin which retains the wood, plastic, or metal bottom is easy to remove but almost impossible for an inexperienced collector to replace without a special fixture. Many, many magazines show a buggered-up area where the bottom pin has been forcibly replaced and the surrounding metal has been damaged because of the difficulty of proper alignment. Having ruined a couple of otherwise good magazines early on, I speak from experience. Luke
