Just so you know John H... I was at the inauguration, and at the parade... and saw most of those marching units as close as a non-participant was allowed to get by the security forces present.

Most of the drill rifles that were below the University level were in pretty bad shape, and MANY were plastic molded imitations of real guns...

The active duty and reserve unit guns were looking good... and the fancy walnut on the M-1's and M-14's was enough to drool over...

The state of the art stuff carried by the security forces was a lot of plastic and steel, but was formidable... and as you know, there were no incidents that weren't quickly suppressed by the security... a good job done by all...
