Hi Ron,

The holster is not likely for a P.38. There is a Luger style "hold up strap" visible on this holster. Hard shell P.38 holsters had a "lift strap" that was sewn to the inside front of the holster and to the inside of the flap so the gun would be pulled up when the flap was opened. At least all I have and have seen were made this way.

I am not aware of a post-war hard shell P.38 holster. All I have seen were soft shells.

Of course I haven't seen it all, by any means, so they could exist. Just wanted to offer this observation.
