Hello Ed,
There was a guy I knew of through the grapevine that liked to mess with stuff like holsters and things. He was very creative (rest his sole), a tool and die maker by trade, worked at Oak Ridge National Laboratories. I think he liked creating things that would confuse people later on. Ain't that sad but so common today. He bought and sold lugers just to make money, he was never a collector. I have no way of knowing if the holster Tom has is one of his. The one I had only had 1945 on it, but this fellow was smart enough to stamp on extra things to create the mystery of trying to explain it later.
