Hello Craig,

Following Tom's advice...I would only add that I do leave a bit of the vertigris on portions that are too hard to clean off...just to show evidence of some age.

If you need to locate a strap for your M1929 Swiss holster, you could try Luger Forum member, SwissDaggers...who lives in Switzerland and has helped several members locate Swiss items :
