Pardon me if I'm 'preaching to the choir', but get that pistol cleaned and oiled to prevent/stop any unseen corrosion, and don't keep it in the holster. Photograph it from all angles, record the serial number, write up everything you know about it, how you got it and where it came from, and get it insured. It probably would be best if you did not fire it - you wouldn't want to break any original parts, which would destroy the value of the gun. Store it in a secure, climate-controlled place, such as a gun safe, in the living space of your home.
