How many magazines?

With commercials nothing was supplied or issued. It was purchased so any amount could/would be possible. Two seems likely in most cases, one in the pistol and another in the extra mag pouch. Double magazine pouches were available as well..so was a triple and room for 4. Ambercrombie & Fitch are noteable for multiple commercial mag pouches. Early commercial catalogs German/English/other are interesting sources for what was available.
