Hi Quintin,
I don't understand your desire to house your 1920 Commercial in a faux military holster. Most of these guns, when imported into the US back in the 1920's, were carried in domestically made leather like the ones shown below. You don't need provision for an extra magazine or tool, since you have neither. You can pick up holsters like these relatively cheaply at gun shows (not the 6" models I show here, but the much more common 4" variety that would fit your gun). Think how cool you'd look with one of these babies strapped to your waist! Norm |

Don, thank you for the information. I was not aware of the aftermarket mags not always holding 8 rounds. And yeah I noticed today that the mag base is very loose (also surprised it didn’t bottom out yesterday, upon inspection, then again I only used it once). Also, good to know about the holster. Again I only paid $25 for it and the mag together so low risk and not out much, regardless. I’ll save it for an interarms Luger if/when I find one. Otherwise, what would be your recommendations for getting this magazine to function as a viable spare mag for my commercial Luger to give it 2 of them or to get it functioning as a good second mag for my shooter?
Norme, i just wasn’t sure with commercial Lugers like this how a rig would work or if it even exists for these variants. My youth and inexperience showing through. I have a very beat up looking 1938 Nazi military holster but it needs to be restored and paired with an appropriate pistol eventually. Also attached are some more pictures of the Magazine feed lips and the base and how very scantily it’s held in place.
