Nice Lugers. The "9311u" Luger should have the number "93" or "94" stamped inside the side plate.

The "353" Luger should have the single number "3" or "4" or no number stamped inside the side plate.

IIRC, the "u" and "v" block was generally reserved at Mauser for commercial contract guns. This is a military accepted pistol in that block. Perhaps the earlier time(s) they ran through the block, they used them for military contracts?

In order to confirm retail prices for these guns, look at the larger and more reliable online sales sites. Simpson Ltd, Checkpoint Charlies, Legacy Collectibles are a few. The retail pricing should be about 30% higher than direct collector pricing, and represents an insurance replacement value.

High condition Mauser Lugers that are all matching and collectible are in the prices you've been quoted here. As Ed mentioned you can turn the "42" date Luger into a "matching" magazine one with an original "fxo" milled magazine with black plastic base. These cost more than similar magazines because people know that.

You'll probably enjoy the FAQ document we maintain for free distribution at this site. Just follow the links starting with the "FAQ" link at the top of every forum page.

Welcome to the forum!
