Thank you for the reply. The re-blue job was really very nicely done. I have no idea why whomever replaced the barrel used a old military take off, with a dark bore. Seems to me it would have made more sense to use a new barrel, but who knows?
As an aside, when looking for shooter Lugers I'm especially inclined to Lugers with a nicely done re-blue job. It's my experience they are less likely to have mechanical issues as there aren't many people who will sink the cost of a nice blue job into a gun that doesn't work well. Best, Kyrie |
