Perhaps these are "seconds" that Mecgar just does not want to put their name on.

Good thought!!! Could very well be. The welds down the tube are readily noticeable, no so on my known Mec-Gar mags. Another Luger mystery!!

That's because Mecgar doesn't make them that way; the weld on a Mecgar is down the back.

Whatever my 'mystery mags' are, they function o.k. now that they have been fitted!
